John's music is a comfort in my life - a 'friend' I turn to for music that inspires me, soothes my soul, makes me think outside my comfort zone, dance like no one is watching, sing like I'm a performer and lift my spirits.
Having heard him speak of his love and passion for his art, John's paintings have grown on me over the years and many pieces of art and art exhibits I have had the opportunity to view. It is so interesting to look at the different media he uses and the not-so-hidden message you find when you examine them.

Oh so many! - discovering Minutes to Memories Fan Club; trying to win the MTV Paint the Mutha' Pink House (and when learning the story behind that house was glad I didn't), getting Internet for the 1st time and searching JM and discovering a whole new World through the fan-run Human Wheels list run by students at IU which turned into the first Mellenfest and a love and appreciation for so many other fans from around the World who became some of the best friends. Attending Storytellers taping in Chicago - it was the first intimate live performance that wasn't a concert - My first trip to New York City staying awake all night on Rockefeller Plaza with fellow Mellenheads to attend the Today Show Summer Concert Series on 09/06/01 promoting Cuttin' Heads and singing Peaceful World not knowing we would be attacked a few days later. The bond I felt to the fellow fans who were there will always remain.
There isn't a clear favorite. It often depends on my mood. My initial interest was that of a 13 yo with John Cougar but my unwavering support was cemented with American Fool. A few of my favorite albums are Big Daddy, Lonesome Jubilee, Cuttin' Heads and Life, Death, Life & Freedom... though ;) every single album that comes out is my favorite of the moment and listened to in old school, true album format.
