About Seymour

The City of Seymour is located one hour south of Indianapolis, one hour north of Louisville and one and one-half hours west of Cincinnati. Seymour, Jackson County, Indiana is the place to live your future! Seymour has a population of approximately 20,000 residents and is served by Mayor Matthew Nicholson, Clerk-Treasurer Darrin Boas and seven Councilmembers.

Seymour is a thriving industrial, commercial, and residential community based on well-planned growth and progress. Shields Park Pool Opening

After a two-day delay due to air and water temperatures, the Shields Park Pool opened for the 2021 summer season on Memorial Day.
The pool is under the management of Dave and Chris Boggs and is open to the public for swimming from noon to 5 p.m. seven days a week.
Admission is $4 for ages 6 and up and $2 for ages 3-5. Under the age of 3 are free when accompanied by an adult.
Pool passes are $40 per person. Lap swim is $2 from 11 a.m.-noon and 5-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Swim lessons are available for age 4 and up for $40. Session 1 is Mon.-Thurs. 6/14-6/24. Session 2 is Mon.-Thurs. 7/12-7/22. Times are 11-11:30 a.m. or 5:15-5:45 p.m. for children and 5:45-6:15 p.m. for adults. Last day to sign up for Session 1 is June 11 and for Session 2 is July 9. 
Private one-on-one lessons are $12 per 20 minutes or $15 for 30 minutes. Dates and times to be arranged with an instructor. 
Toddler/Parent lessons are available for 2-3 year olds. Parents are required to accompany their child in the water. Cost is $40. June 14-24 Mon.-Thurs. 5:45-6:15 p.m.
Lap swim is available from 11 a.m.-noon and 5-6:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. Cost is $2.
